The NMRA HUB Division

Who We Are

The HUB Division was chartered on October 11, 1958 by the Northeastern Region (NER) of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), and is presently a registered 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization. We have served the Boston and Eastern Massachusetts area model railroaders and general public for over 50 years, beginning with our first meeting in Worcester in 1959 and hosting our first NMRA Northeastern Region convention only five years later in 1963. The HUB Division has over 400 members.

The "HUB" in our name comes from the nickname for the city of Boston, which is sometimes referred to as the "Hub of New England". The name is also used by the HUB Modular Railroad Group as an acronym for "Housatonic, Upton & Boston" Railroad.

The purpose of the HUB Division is to promote and support the model railroading hobby through public training clinics, model railroading displays and other activities. If you are an NMRA member and live within our boundaries then you are already a member of the HUB Division. If you are not an NMRA member and would like to become one, visit our How To Join page for NMRA membership information that includes a HUB Division discount.  Visit the rest of this site to find out what's going on and join in on the fun!
